Sparrho awards Β£500 to PhD students and postdocs to attend an academic conference of their choice. Today we introduce our winner for October's Sparrho Early Career Researcher Prize - congratulations to Michael Eze!

Michael is a PhD student from Macquarie University, Australia, who specialises in contaminant remediation and he convinced the Sparrho jury with his pinboard topic:

"Plants and microbes unite to efficiently clean up oil spills".

Like our last month's winner, Michael was one of the shortlisted candidates in August and won the prize with his second attempt - bravo for improving your pinboard, Michael! πŸ‘
